If you are concerned about advanced prostate cancer, there are many resources that you can use.
Medical jargon can be confusing, so we suggest you visit Advanced Prostate Cancer Xplained, and download the app for your Apple or Android device, or view it online. This app takes away that confusion through storytelling. Advanced Prostate Cancer Xplained takes us on one man’s journey with Advanced Prostate Cancer in an engaging, informative and entertaining story.
We also suggest you talk to the Group Convenor or the Group Mentor (see the contact us page) who will be able to answer most questions or advise you on where to look for more information.
The Australian Advanced Prostate Cancer Support Group has provided support for you if your prostate cancer is advanced. However the website pages have been retired as of June 24 2020. This link now takes you to a page that refers you to other support websites. The forums will remain online for some months in archive (read-only) format for members to copy topics to their own computers, perhaps to post their stories to a new service.
Advanced cancer refers to:
- locally advanced, or
- metastatic to lymph nodes, or
- metastatic to other parts, or
- recurring – rising PSA after primary treatment
If you have very high risk disease (e.g. high Gleason score) and want to become more informed you will also gain benefits from these support websites.
